Affiliate / Influencer Disclosure Brief (FTC Compliant)
Effective Date: April 30, 2026 | Audience: All LePsychic affiliates, influencers, brand partners, employees posting on social.
REQUIREMENT. Under US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Endorsement Guides and similar rules in the UK (CAP), EU, Canada, and Australia, any material connection between a content creator and a brand must be clearly and conspicuously disclosed in every piece of content that endorses or recommends the brand.
WHAT COUNTS AS MATERIAL CONNECTION. Commissions, affiliate payouts, free product, free sessions, gifts, discounted services, employment, or any other compensation or benefit.
HOW TO DISCLOSE (DEFAULT PATTERN). Begin posts with #ad or #sponsored. For longer content, add a clear statement such as: "This post contains a LePsychic affiliate link. I earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you." Disclosure must be at the beginning (not buried in a thread, stories tail, or hashtag cloud), in the same language as the content, and readable in the platform's display.
PLATFORM-SPECIFIC. Instagram: use the Paid Partnership tool in addition to #ad. TikTok: enable the Branded Content toggle and include #ad. YouTube: check the "Contains Paid Promotion" box and state disclosure on-screen within the first 30 seconds. X/Twitter: #ad in the post. Blogs: disclosure at the top, before the first affiliate link.
PROHIBITED CLAIMS. Do not claim guaranteed outcomes from readings, do not imply medical/psychological/legal/financial advice, do not fabricate personal experiences you did not have, and do not represent fake reviews as genuine.
MONITORING. LePsychic reviews affiliate and influencer content periodically. Non-compliance may result in withheld commissions, termination of the partnership, and public correction.
AFFILIATE AGREEMENT CLAUSE. By joining the LePsychic Affiliate Program, Partner agrees to comply with this Brief, FTC Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255), and all applicable laws in the jurisdictions where their audience is located. Partner will indemnify LePsychic for any claim arising from Partner's non-compliant content.
